The White Stripes fue un dúo estadounidense de rock fundado en 1997 en Detroit, Michigan. El grupo estuvo integrado por Jack White (compositor, vocalista, guitarrista, bajista y tecladista) y Meg White (baterista y vocalista ocasional).
Después de lanzar varios sencillos y tres álbumes dentro de la escena musical de Detroit, The White Stripes saltó a la fama en 2002, como parte de la escena garage rock revival. Su éxito y álbumes críticamente aclamados White Blood Cells y Elephant llamaron la atención de una gran variedad de medios de comunicación en los Estados Unidos y el Reino Unido, con el sencillo 'Seven Nation Army' y su ahora icónica línea de guitarra se convirtió en un gran éxito. La banda grabó dos álbumes más, Get Behind Me Satan en 2005 e Icky Thump en 2007, y se disolvió en 2011 después de una larga pausa de actuar y grabar.
