Blur es una banda inglesa de rock formada en London en 1988. El grupo está integrado por Damon Albarn (cantante y tecladista), Graham Coxon (guitarrista y cantante), Alex James (bajista) y Dave Rowntree (baterista).
El álbum debut de Blur, Leisure (1991), incorporó los sonidos de Madchester y Shoegazing. Después de un cambio de estilo influenciado por grupos ingleses de pop como The Kinks, Wire y XTC, Blur lanzó Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993), Parklife (1994) y The Great Escape (1995). Como resultado, la banda ayudó a popularizar el género del pop británico y consiguió popularidad masiva en el Reino Unido, con la ayuda de una batalla en las listas que libró con Oasis en 1995, la cual fue conocida como "La Batalla del Britpop".
